My thoughts on the protests sweeping the country

Hello Youtubers!
Frankly I’m not sure what to say about the protests that’s sweeping the country. I mean, it’s not as if these protests are unexpected. Far too many times, innocent black men have been killed by the police. Their outrage is certainly justified.
On the other hand, their response is, in many places viewed as disproportionate. I say viewed to be disproportionate because I have to ask, what is the price of innocent life? Moreover, I have to ask, “What kind of response is needed to get police to stop killing harmless black people?” Because anything less than that, is a weak and ineffective response.
Have previous, peaceful protests caused change? On the other hand, Trump is deploying the US military to protect against the rioting, looting, and other violent behavior. I mean, you can’t really blame him for this. I think many presidents would have done the same, in similar circumstances.
That’s why I think this will only hurt the cause of the Black Lives Matter movement, because it will confirm in the minds of many the stereotypes of violence associated with black people.
Just saying, when a lot of people already think you’re violent, having mass protests with a lot of violence isn’t really the best move for reducing racial tensions in the United States. Say what you want about the Million Man march, but at least it was peaceful! Imagine if their was an organized and peaceful march to Washington? What if was a 5 million Man March?
Well, that’s my opinion. Hopefully some positive change will come out of these protests. Unfortunately, I think they will inflame tensions even more but I’d love to be wrong!
