This is how we can really rebuild America...

Hello Youtubers!

In this video, I’ll give a broad outline of how I would solve unemployment and other problems systemic in our economy, possibly bringing unemployment numbers to historically low levels and faster than any other nation in history. Sound narcissist? Well, wait till I release the video of the specific policies and judge for yourself whether they would solve the problems. Also, on this channel, when major crises happen, I’ll do my best to offer solutions to even the most complex of world challenges. Because the truth is, it’s not all that difficult if you’re honest and can learn from the past. I’m convinced that there’s nothing really new under the sun.

While the economists may tell you there is no precedent for the economic situation we find ourselves in, that’s not really true. There is no precedent in our own nation’s history, for sure. However, from Rome, which greatly influenced our own system of government, there is a lot of precedent. We find ourselves in very similar economic conditions as the Roman Republic when it transitioned into Empire. The conditions that led to it are somewhat different, but regardless, we find ourselves in the same situation.

So the idea I’m presenting to you isn’t my idea; it’s how Julius Caesar fixed widespread unemployment shortly after becoming dictator. And it begins to show Caesar was loved by the people but hated by the elite, likely leading to his assassination.

Before becoming dictator, major civil unrest had caused massive and systemic problems to the economy very similar to what we are experiencing today. Lenders began demanding repayment of loans and the real estate market collapsed, resulting in a serious financial crisis, much like during the Great Recession. And much like modern America, leaders promised to fix the systemic problems that created the crisis. But because they didn’t’, it eventually resulted in a shortage of money in circulation and massive unemployment, the same as what we’ve experienced since the Great Recession, and recently intensified by the coronavirus. It’s why the Federal Reserve is pumping so much money into the economy.

Unlike politicians before him, and unlike politicians of today, Caesar did what he promised. He fixed the problems systemic to the Roman economy. As dictator, he banned the hoarding of wealth. He forbade any one citizen from owning more than 60,000 sesterces of cash, what would be the modern equivalent of outlawing billionaires. He also canceled all interest due since his start as dictator and gave tenants a year of free rent. These actions helped to alleviate the debt, and then he grew the economy by creating a massive jobs program, in what I think is perhaps the most creative and best way to grow our own economy.

There were two major things that Caesar did to reduce unemployment. One policy was the incredibly obvious construction of new public buildings, much like politicians today call for a massive public works project of rebuilding roads, bridges, etc. But Caesar also did something else to reduce unemployment, something that I think is far more insightful of his character and shows his creativity in solving a problem. To really help the poor, Caesar offered them the choice to stay in Rome or the ability to start a new life in any number of various Roman overseas colonies.

While this video is only meant to serve as a broad outline to the thoughts guiding my solutions, I hope you understand that my approach is something that would be truly transformational, though it would be very similar to what Caesar did. Likely this week, I’ll release a video that provides specific policies. I’ll also release a video that offers my thoughts on the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle.

That’s all the time I have for now. If you like this video please show your support by subscribing.
